Hearts and Homes - Manawatū

Hearts and Homes is a biennial Arohanui Hospice fundraising event taking place in November 2023.

Showcasing some of Manawatū’s finest homes and gardens, the tour offers a selection of urban and lifestyle properties to explore and inspire. Beautiful styling, unique to each home, is undertaken by a mix of homeowners, volunteers, floral artists and professional florists.

A self-drive tour, Hearts and Homes 2023 will take place over 2 glorious days. With a centrally located event HQ, attendees can browse and purchase from a carefully curated assortment of home décor and gift stalls as well as enjoy their pre-ordered morning tea or lunch in an awe inspiring dining space.

Together with a wonderful team of homeowners, volunteers, sponsors and supporters, Arohanui Hospice is delighted to host you for an inspiring day out! Scroll on down for all the details……

Tour Details

Self-Drive Tour

The self-drive tour includes 11 locations for you to peruse at your leisure on your event day. You will have access to 10 beautiful homes and gardens and a gorgeous pop-up event space to enjoy pre-ordered food and refreshments.

Home locations are a surprise! The tour map and address details will be posted to ticket holders in the week before the event. All homes on the self drive tour are within a 15 km radius of the event HQ.

Self-drive tour tickets: $120 incl GST per person

This year we are privileged to have Tony Murrell join us with a daily talk on 'The art of changing your Garden'. Tony has an extensive horticultural knowledge and is considered one of the top rated landscape designers in New Zealand. With more than 20 years experience he has designed gardens all over the world including a garden on this years Hearts & Homes tour. Tony also has a noteworthy career in publishing, radio and TV such as Ground Force on TV 3.

Market Stallholders

This year our headquarters will be showcasing 11 market stalls for you to browse and purchase curated gifts from. All stalls have been hand picked to provide a range of beautiful merchandise from Christmas decorations to pottery and plants, there is something for everyone. And we will also have some additional stallholders at properties this year.

This year we are offering you the chance to pre-order five stunning Sarah Bernhardt peony stems at an incredible discount. These large, exquisite blooms will add a touch of elegance to any space and all proceeds go directly to Arohanui Hospice. Our catering partner for 2023 is Crafted & Co. Attendees can choose from the following delicious pre-order options (which can be collected and enjoyed at our event HQ between 9:30am - 2:30pm).

Morning Tea - $15 p/p

2 x Double Decker Sandwiches + Brownie Bites and a cup of tea OR coffee

Lunch - $25 p/p Choice of:

Option 1 – Charred Seasonal Greens with Buckwheat, Hazelnut Vinaigrette, Beetroot Hummus, and Herbed Falafel (GF.DF.VEGAN) with Chocolate Brownie Slice (GF). Plus a cup of tea OR coffee

Served in a takeaway container with utensils.

Option 2 – Mediterranean Penne with Poached Chicken, Rocket, Confit Garlic, and Parmesan with Apricot Slice. Plus a cup of tea OR coffee

Boxed Grazing - $95 for 4 people

A Seasonal Selection of Fruit, Cheese, Charcuterie, Pickles, Home made Artisan Crackers and Breads, Dips and Condiments, Olives, Nuts and Other Interesting Things, plus a bottle of sparkling water.

This is a mixed box ready for up to 4 people to snack on. Items will be put in according to availability and seasonality. Not every item you see is guaranteed but it's guaranteed to be delicious every time!
